Explore collaborative research support services and gain insights from an international and national perspective.
The Research Data Cluster plays a crucial role in coordinating activities related to research information systems, research data management and digital technologies/infrastructures. A particular focus is placed on identifying synergies and potential for resource-optimised collaboration between the various Austrian research institutions.
The representatives of the Research Data Cluster invite you to attend the symposium "Cross-cutting Research Support Services". Find out about current projects, learn about European implementations and discuss the challenges of the future.
Program of the Symposium
On 14 May from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., we will present the projects 'Shared RDM Services & Infrastructures' and 'ARI&Snet'. Using European examples of national research infrastructures, we will discuss the future of research support services in Austria. Look forward to an exciting afternoon with interesting presentations and stimulating discussions.
Hands-on research data, 14. Mai 9:00-12:00 Uhr
Target audience: Operational actors in the broader field of research data management, open science and EOSC activities.
Europäische Lösungen, um Forschungsergebnisse FAIR zu machen
FAIRCORE4EOSC, funded by the European Commission, is developing nine services to promote FAIR for research. The services work to improve the discoverability of research objects and the introduction of the Research Activity Identifier (RAiD). Accessibility and reusability are promoted, for example, through improved archiving, discovery and citability of research source code. Interoperability is promoted through a service for creating, sharing and operationalising crosswalks between metadata schemas.
Program des Workshops
A description of all the services developed can be found on the project website https://faircore4eosc.eu/eosc-core-components and in the detailed workshop programme. Beta versions and documentation will be made publicly available for most of them, with the final versions being released in spring 2025.
Interested individuals or organisations are invited to participate in an open consultation, during which the developers will be available to assist them in planning and adopting the services. The developers also welcome feedback on the services, as both the final features and quality of the services can still be influenced before their final release.
To round off the day's programme, we are offering three different guided tours of the Getreidemarkt campus (NMR Centre, X-ray Centre, Plus-Energy Office Tower). As places are limited, please register in good time.
