On March 3, the webinar “The Barcelona Declaration: Why Open Research Information Matters,” coordinated by the Cluster Research+Data, took place. With around 100 participants, the event was of interest to a considerable number of national and international people of the research community.

The 3rd FAIR Digital Objects Conference will take place at TU Wien from March 24 to 27, 2026. This event will explore the development of FAIR digital objects and their role in establishing a trustworthy, global data landscape.

The next event in the webinar series ‘Research Data Management in Austria’ will focus on the topic of ‘Research (Data) Infrastructures for the Digital Humanities’. Walter Scholger will give us an insight into CLARIAH-AT and the two overarching ERICs DARIAH-EU and CLARIN-ERIC.

As part of the cluster's ongoing development as an information hub and networking platform, there has been a minor rebranding: “Cluster Research Data” has been renamed the “Cluster Research+Data”.

During International Love Data Week, which this year will focus on the question "Where's the data?", the University of Graz will host a full-day event on this topic.

The FAIR & AI Symposium, organised under Cluster Forschungsdaten, brought together a vibrant community of researchers, infrastructure specialists, data stewards, and policy experts to explore one of today’s most pressing intersections: the evolving relationship between FAIR research data and artificial intelligence (AI). Held in the magnificent Aula of TU Graz’ historic main building, the rich program sparked lively discussions on how data management and AI development can advance together in a responsible and sustainable way.

On October 6, 2026, the first meeting of the RIS Synergy Consortium took place at TU Wien.

The annual project meeting of “Shared RDM” took place at Graz University of Technology from September 23 to 24. The focus was on how cooperation between universities can be continued on a sustainable basis even after the official end of the project.

On September 8 and 9, the University of Vienna invited Austrian and international guests to an open science exchange.

All 18 previous RIS Synergy project partners remain part of the RIS Synergy Consortium. In addition, two further research institutions have joined the consortium.
